The Bioenergy Life Science booth #3257 at IFT 2014 in New Orleans is bustling with activity! Thirsty attendees are quenching their thirst, and re-booting their energy levels, with four flavors of Titan Tea by Chill Brands, LLC, made with three grams of Bioenergy Ribose per serving.

Most are also succumbing to our array of tempting treats made with ribose including big hits: Good Cacao’s Energy (coconut) and Zipp Foods’ Peak Energy tablets.

Our Team Ribose athletes – Greg Bennett, Laura Bennett and Billy Demong, are doing an excellent job of explaining to visitors exactly how ribose has safely benefited their daily routines, giving them sustainable energy and helping with their muscle recovery.

They also report having a blast during the IFTSA Fun Run & Walk in Audubon Park, where they finished strong! Bioenergy Life Science is proud to have again sponsored this event, which raised a record-breaking $107,000 for Feeding Tomorrow undergraduate and graduate food science scholarships.

Olympian Laura Bennett’s tips for easing yourself out of winter hibernation

After a harsh winter, we’re finally starting to see glimpses of spring. Many of us become more active as the temperatures rise, busy with everything from outdoor sports to gardening. We asked Team Ribose member, Olympian and multiple world championship medalist Laura Bennett, for her tips on getting back into shape.

“If you have had some time off (from your fitness routine), it is important to make sure you get back into exercise slow and cautiously,” she advises. “For example, set up a routine of exercising every day but starting out slowly and conservatively.”

For example, if your exercise is running, Bennett suggests a schedule of walking and running. “Program your stop watch to one-minute run, one-minute walk. Try to build up your total time to an hour each day. So on day one, do a total of 20 minutes. Day two would be 30 minutes, day three: 40 minutes. Day four would be a day off. Then on day five, aim for 50 minutes. Day six, go back to 40 minutes. Then on day seven, set a goal of 60 minutes.

Bennett encourages you to listen to your body, and adjust your goals accordingly as you build up your stamina. “Remember that daily intake of Bioenergy Ribose can minimize sore muscles and muscle cramps so that you won’t be sidelined by pain,” she adds. “It can also help restore muscle energy faster so you’ll be more likely to finish that run, keep up with your kids as they enjoy outdoor play time, or simply complete your spring planting so that you can sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor.”

Team Ribose athletes teach Denver TV viewers how to train and eat like Olympians

Bennetts Denver

Professional athletes Greg and Laura Bennett work out for a living, and revealed to Colorado’s Best host Joana Canals that their top fitness secret is Bioenergy Ribose. These Team Ribose members, who have competed in the Olympics, Ironman and World Cup competitions, were at KWGN-TV in Denver to share their training and nutrition tips with viewers. They explained that they add Bioenergy Ribose in their morning coffee and take it again before bed each night to help their muscles to relax and recover. “It keeps the battery going all day long,” commented Greg.

Ribose is a five-carbon sugar that our bodies naturally make and use in producing energy molecules (ATP). These world-champion athletes understand that when we push our bodies to their limits, demand for ribose may outpace our ability to make more of it.

The Bennetts also reminded viewers that nutrition is the body’s fuel, and the right nutrition helps you get the most from your training. Their meals include egg whites, turkey, chicken, fish and avocado. They also discussed why they sometimes eat gluten-free foods.

The Bennetts recently announced that they have qualified for the Ironman 5150 (Des Moines, Iowa, September 1st) and 70.3 (Las Vegas, September 8th) World Championships. Qualifying for these events was a priority for each of them for 2013. Laura will also make her full Ironman debut at the North American Ironman Championships (Mont-Tremblant, Canada) on August 18th.

Our Team Ribose members are traveling the world! Just as many of us, including elite triathletes Greg and Laura Bennett, gather in Chicago for the Institute of Food Technologists Annual Meeting and Food Expo, rowing champion Susan Francia will be competing as one of the favorites in the Samsung World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne, Switzerland! Susan won gold and set a world record (5:54.17) in the heat in the eight at the 2012 Samsung World Rowing Cup II. We know she’ll have a remarkable showing in this year’s event. Good luck Susan! We are rooting for you!

Meanwhile, our newestTeam Ribose member Billy Demong will be in the midst of a challenging three-week trip that includes an annual race in Steamboat Springs, CO followed by a ski jumping camp in the Black Forest of Germany. He will then travel to France where he will ride in the Alps for as many as seven hours a day, which follows the Tour de France for several stages.

Team Ribose will also be represented during next month’s Fi South America, taking place in sunny Sao Paulo, Brazil. Bioenergy Life Science Sales Manager Michael Crabtree will be in attendance with our parent company Chengzhi Life Science booth #S57. Fi South America and Hi 013 are expected to attract more than 11,000 food professionals from more than 50 countries. We look forward to meeting with many of our international customers, and building stronger partnerships with our distributors during this event.

Just as Bioenergy Ribose helps everyone from elite athletes to busy moms and 9-to-5’ers maintain their energy, the industry side of the equation is also sustaining strong momentum. There is strong and growing interest in formulating with Bioenergy Ribose because it delivers what the public is seeking: faster energy recovery and better energy reserves without crashes, jitters and other undesirable side effects.
