Bioenergy Ribose makes the Mount Kilimanjaro climb with Dr. Maroon

Mount Kilimanjaro

When renowned neurosurgeon and athlete Dr. Joseph Maroon began planning his climbing expedition of Mount Kilimanjaro, he was certain that his equipment must include Bioenergy Ribose. A sports fitness expert, Maroon knows that D-Ribose will help his muscles recover faster from the extreme exertion. It will also help to reduce stiffness and soreness. “D-Ribose will be in my water bottles,” he confirms.

Maroon is participating as the medical advisor for the first-ever climb of Mount Kilimanjaro by 11 amputees, organized by the Live Free Foundation. The climb will begin on February 20, and the group will attempt to reach the summit in five days. At 19,341 feet above sea level, Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest peak.

Bioenergy Ribose has been Maroon’s ‘secret weapon’ during past athletic feats including his participation in Iron Man Triathlons.

Bioenergy Ribose featured in Muscle & Fitness magazine article

When board-certified nutritionist and nationally known fitness expert Jonny Bowden, Ph.D., CNS, was asked to write an article advising readers how to get more energy, he made sure to include Bioenergy Ribose. In his article “Simple Steps to Power Up Your Energy Reserves”, Bowden explains that, “Ribose is not like rollover minutes. You can’t store it up. If you’re doing something strenuous that requires a lot of exertion, you’ll need a lot of it, maybe more than your body can churn out right away.”

Bowden, the best-selling author of 14 books on health, healing, food and longevity, added that, “Bioenergy Ribose is an ideal supplement to take. I play tennis 8-9 times a week, without a day to relax and re-boot. I need to keep my ribose storehouse constantly replenished, so it is an important part of my supplement program.”

Bowden’s helpful tips for getting all-day energy also included limiting processed carbs, which he calls energy drainers, and replacing those foods with more nutritious alternatives such as string cheese with an apple before a workout, and a whey protein shake for post-workout recovery.

He concluded: “When you sleep well, you make smarter nutritional decisions. If you also add D-Ribose into the mix, your tired muscles will recover faster so you can exercise even more. More exercise means sleeping better at night and having more energy throughout the next day. It’s that simple.”

Why you may need more sustained energy this winter

Winter days may be shorter but your need for energy reserves may be greater this time of year. All the more reason to add Bioenergy Ribose to your daily routine. Consider someone who is living in a snowy climate. Winter often means having to dig out of a snow-covered driveway in the morning before fighting rush hour traffic to spend another eight hours at work. Even those who live in sunny Southern California often like to escape to the mountains this time of year for some weekend downhill skiing.

When you’re more active than usual, it makes sense to pay closer attention to how you are maintaining your energy levels. Ribose is a safe, natural and clinically proven way to restore and sustain energy. We all want fewer energy slumps during this busy season, right?

Here are some other ways your body needs extra energy this month. Chances are good that you’re doing more:

• Standing in line at the mall

• Extra trips to the supermarket

• Cooking holiday meals

• Sprucing up the house by heavy cleaning or moving furniture around before out-of-town family arrives

Bioenergy Ribose increases your energy reserves, so you’ll be ready for just about anything this season, from the dash into the store for a last-minute gift to joining a friend on a brisk weekend hike. Plus if you’re using muscles you haven’t used in a while, ribose will help them to recover faster so you’ll spend less time being sore and more time having fun.

SupplySide West 2013: Industry reacts positively to caffeine study

November 20th, 2013
Bioenergy SSW 2013 2

SupplySide West 2013 may be history, but it sparked conversations about the future uses of ribose that will continue for a long time to come. Among the hottest topics of conversations was the results of a new study showing that combining d-ribose with caffeine significantly reduced caffeine usage level and provided sustained energy for much better performance. Bioenergy Ribose was used in this study.

Bioenergy Life Science President Tom VonderBrink was thrilled with the industry’s reaction. “We had great reception and positive comments on the caffeine study. It was exciting to have something so timely and significant to discuss with attendees.” Previous studies have shown that combining ribose with reasonable dosages of caffeine may be a logical synergy.

Elite Team Ribose athletes: “before and after” ribose

Susan After

Olympian Susan Francia had fun getting to know attendees who stopped by our booth. She’d hold up her smaller gold medal from the Beijing Olympics and say with a grin, “Before ribose” … then hold up the significantly larger gold medal she earned in London and say, “After ribose!”

Then she’d get down to business, explaining how Bioenergy Ribose helps her with muscle and energy recovery, getting her through a back injury and ready for the Olympics. Ribose gave her the energy she needed to get through one workout, and then be recovered and full of energy for the next workout. “I had a great time meeting people and talking about Bioenergy Ribose,” she says of SupplySide West. “I thought the convention was a hit and we made a lot of good contacts.”

Added Olympian Billy Demong, “I was really impressed with SupplySide West! There was a lot of energy, and a lot of good nutritional products were represented. It was exciting being in the Bioenergy Ribose booth. So many people came by to talk about ways to include Bioenergy Ribose into their products because they know about its many great benefits.”
