U.S. Ski Team highlights Team Ribose member Billy Demong

The U.S. Ski Team website has an entire page devoted to Team Ribose member Billy Demong. A four-time U.S. Olympian who has won numerous medals in world competitions, Demong is considered one of the best-ever Nordic combined skiers.

Among his recent accomplishments detailed on the website: “The 2013 season saw Demong compete and push his teammates to new levels.” Demong anchored a team that won bronze at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Italy, the first full-team event medal for the U.S. Nordic Combined Ski Team at any World Championships. Also this year, Demong and his team finished third at the Schonach World Cup stop.

On his use of Bioenergy Ribose, Demong is quoted in Natural Products Insider as saying, “I’ve noticed a remarkably shortened turnaround time between finishing long hard sessions and feeling recovered to go again. I have an enhanced ability to work harder day after day, with each day starting off feeling fresh and ready.”

Demong has a way of inspiring everyone he meets to dig deeper and push harder. Last spring, he wrote in his blog: “Snow is fleeting in most of the world, even the mighty Wasatch. As we watch it dissipate, we realign our training accordingly to find fun and challenging ways to do our workouts.”

Billy Demong always seems to enjoy challenging himself. We’re proud and excited that Bioenergy Ribose is an ingredient in his formula for success.

Where in the world is Team Ribose?

Our Team Ribose members are traveling the world! Just as many of us, including elite triathletes Greg and Laura Bennett, gather in Chicago for the Institute of Food Technologists Annual Meeting and Food Expo, rowing champion Susan Francia will be competing as one of the favorites in the Samsung World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne, Switzerland! Susan won gold and set a world record (5:54.17) in the heat in the eight at the 2012 Samsung World Rowing Cup II. We know she’ll have a remarkable showing in this year’s event. Good luck Susan! We are rooting for you!

Meanwhile, our newestTeam Ribose member Billy Demong will be in the midst of a challenging three-week trip that includes an annual race in Steamboat Springs, CO followed by a ski jumping camp in the Black Forest of Germany. He will then travel to France where he will ride in the Alps for as many as seven hours a day, which follows the Tour de France for several stages.

Team Ribose will also be represented during next month’s Fi South America, taking place in sunny Sao Paulo, Brazil. Bioenergy Life Science Sales Manager Michael Crabtree will be in attendance with our parent company Chengzhi Life Science booth #S57. Fi South America and Hi 013 are expected to attract more than 11,000 food professionals from more than 50 countries. We look forward to meeting with many of our international customers, and building stronger partnerships with our distributors during this event.

Just as Bioenergy Ribose helps everyone from elite athletes to busy moms and 9-to-5’ers maintain their energy, the industry side of the equation is also sustaining strong momentum. There is strong and growing interest in formulating with Bioenergy Ribose because it delivers what the public is seeking: faster energy recovery and better energy reserves without crashes, jitters and other undesirable side effects.

Olympian Billy Demong joins Team Ribose

Another amazing elite athlete has joined Team Ribose! 2010 Olympic Gold and Silver Medalist Billy Demong reports that he is already seeing the benefits of adding Bioenergy Ribose to his fitness regimen as he prepares for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia. As a Team Ribose member, Billy will also appear in future Bioenergy Ribose ads and at many of our events.

“I was turned on to Ribose through friends who had taken the product, and knew some of the incredible testimonials of other endurance athletes including Greg and Laura Bennett and Olympic Champion Susan Francia,” Billy says. “I started taking the product several weeks ago which is perfect timing as we are in a huge volume base-building phase and recovery from all of the endurance training and strength sessions is critical. I’ve noticed a remarkably shortened turnaround time between finishing long hard sessions and feeling recovered to go again. I have an enhanced ability to work harder day after day with each day starting off feeling fresh and ready. In the past week alone I’ve biked, run and skied over 250 miles with over 40,000 vertical feet of climbing, lifted weights three times for two hours and raced a 75-mile road race and I’ve only had one day off!”

With a career on the snow of more than 15 years, Billy has produced some staggering numbers and memorable moments as America’s best-ever Nordic combined skier. Nordic combined is a rigorous winter sport in which athletes compete in both cross-country skiing and ski jumping.

In addition to his Gold and Silver Medal Performance at the 2010 Olympic Games (where he was elected by his fellow Team USA athletes to be the Flag Bearer at the Closing Ceremony), he is already a four-time Olympian, a 21-time World Cup Medalist (nine of which are gold), a record-setting nine-time U.S. World Team member and an eight-time U.S. National Champion.

An avid cyclist, Billy finished second overall in the High Uinta Classic Stage Race from Kamas, Utah to Evanston, Wyoming.

Watch for Billy to give some exciting reports as a member of Team Ribose. “I’m very excited to utilize the resources of the US Ski Team’s sport science to test and quantify some of the benefits to Bioenergy Ribose for my training and recovery through daily strength and fitness monitoring including isometric push tests, jump power, VO2 max, Lactate Threshold and daily heart rate monitoring,” he says. “I want to use these results to share with other people and athletes the benefits of proper planning and monitoring of training and nutrition.”
